I finally got around to finding the disc with all my pictures on it. Since I have time to blow today, I figured I might share some of my past creations..

Here is cherry bear. Isn't she cute. Made with cotton thread. Gotta love it.. Way to tiny and chances are I will never make another tiny bugger like this again. Not sure why the picture is showing a yellowing. Must be from the flash or something..

Okay, so I know he is really ugly.. But.. he was almost finished when my pup decided to have a snack. Gross... But.. I will recreate him one day.. LOL

I have dubbed this beauty Ginny. I made the outfit and the scarf. But not the cloak. I think I will get her patch on soon. Been long overdue. Now to get a Harry, Hermoine, and Ro. I have the dolls already, but need to find time to do facial touch ups. The costumes are almost finished, but still alot of work left.

So.. enough pictures for today. I went to the DMV to plate our new semi. That was fun.. NOT!! I am not sure how people become so mean, but the lady that waited on my was a real PITA! Rude and horrible actually. She really needs to get laid or something.. LOL

Well. It is time for me to get busy. Will update later if I get a chance..

Aren't they cute.. I just had to share. What a great framed picture this would be in my polkadot bedroom...

WOW!! Saturday morning and I am up soooo early. "Why?" you may ask?????????? Well.... my darling Courtney had a "lock-in" at school and had to be picked up by 7am. Way to punish the parents. LOL The kids had a miserable time. Nobody would listen and work together. Had a teacher crying cause the kids were out of control. Not that just sounds like they needed a MOM there.. LOL I would have had them towing the mark in about 2 seconds and everyone would have been standing in timeout... :) yeah right... Sounded good though didn't it..

I designed my new business cards last night. They are kind of generic. Nothing spectacular, but really cute. I love them. Kind of retro without being to retro. Anyway.. I do need to get things moving a bit faster. My website is just sitting there waiting to be finished and uploaded to the net. I will be working on that today. I did find lots of great graphics, but I don't want to make it to wild either..

Okay.. this is just to funny.. Not my way of thinking, but hey.. whatever works for ya...
I am off to get the lawn watered. Now that I have grass popping up, I want to keep it. Darn birds keep eating my seeds, so I have to get another bag to do some touch up work, but it is coming along nicely.. Will update with pictures tomorrow.

Thursday, May 17, 2007

Oofta.. I am sooo tired. I am catching a horrible cold. This weather changing crap is for the birds. A nice even 75 degrees and sunny would be great. Or a warm nasty thunderstorm would be nice. But this cold crap is just not right. Warm one day and cold the next. My poor nose is so completely sore from blowing, runny, blowing, runny...I just don't think it will last another day. Might just fall off you know.. LOL My eyes are swollen, red and itchy.. And to top it off, I have a headache from hell. What a wreck!!

On the good front.. my grass is growing... LOL They green shaggy stuff you have to mow in your yard you sillies... Not the grass you smoke.. LOL I pulled out tons of weeds and dandilions.. What a chore that was.. But.. next couple weeks should bring a nice carpet of soft new grass.. I can't wait.. then it will be time to get the walkway dock built, the deck stained, and the french doors put in.. I have a gal coming Saturday to help me with the garden plans. That is going to be great. I want to get my herbs growing in the ground instead of the pots they are in. They really want to be in the ground.. I also have to get bricks brought in for my retaining wall. I may just scrap that for this year, but it would be nice to have it done by the end of next month.. LOL

Kids are good. A bit of teenage drama happening, but Mama is on it.. LOL I did get a rasta scarf made. Well.. almost made. It just needs the border and it will be set. I crocheted it while I was watching... shoot.. Stomping the yard or something like that.. It was excellent... I really liked it. Will have to get to work tomorrow though.. I didn't do a thing today..

Wow.. it is late. gotta get to bed. Need that sleep you know..

Sunday, May 13, 2007

Okay.. so I may ahve been a bit off this morning on my deduction regarding the grass. Guess I was a bit over-sensitive.. LOL So, there is more green, but actually calling it grass would be a bit overboard. I have plenty of dandelions and weeds. Some small grass seedlings.. I will have to go out and pull up most of those yellow nasties that I just hate.. I will wait til the ground dries up a bit more. Maybe tomorrow.
We are in for storms tonight they say.. However, the weather channel keeps changing the forecast. Just can't keep up with it. Here are updated pictures of the backyard. see.. there is more green.. LOL

I managed to get a braided scarf done. I got an order today for one in rasta colors. Will probably work on that later tonight while catching up on some well deserved television watching.. In other words.. I just feel like veggin out..

So.. here is my newest vent.. I created a myspace account. http://www.myspace.com/eviloneforyou
It really is pretty darn neat. Mostly for friends and family, but a couple other people that I know of.. Anyway.. Here it comes.. LOL.. Most of my friends are like me.. Same likes and dislikes.. Except one.. she is more of a friend by acquaintance. I like her alot, but she isn't someone I would invite with me when I am out with my other friends. Not to be mean, but because she doesn't have the same interests and really would not fit in very well.. Anyhow.. She is trying to fit in and it is appreciated, however, when she invited all my friends to her myspace, I was a bit offended. I applaud her for trying, but she has taken it to the extreme. She makes comments about things that I have told her in confidence. Sly comments.. It is driving me crazy. She is talking to them like she has known them for years. A few have commented to me about it. It makes them uncomfortable. I am beginning to wonder if she has ever kept anything private. I certainly will not tell her anything ever again. Especially when I don't want it known to... EVERYONE!!
So anyway.. I am not sure how I am going to handle it, but will have to figure something out. Okay.. I am off the vent wagon.. Life is grand.. Kids made me kabobs for supper.. They were FANTASTIC!! And I got tons of flowers and this really kick ass picture frame for my sorely lacking walls.. LOL No diamonds or pearls or anything sparkly.. But.. I did get to have all my kids and that is the most important part..
I am off now.. time to veg...
Okay.. 10 days ago we did our lawn.. Still no friggin grass!! Now.. I would have expected to see something growing.. But NOTHING!!! Not some much as a single sprout.. Yea.. I went and stuck my nose to the ground and searched the entire yard for one single sprout.. And did I mention I am tired of watering hte shit! Every morning at 7am and every evening at 8pm. It is really getting old.. LOL But.. good news is I got to skip the morning watering today. It rained.. YEAH!!! Not alot, but enough that I didn't have to water it myself.. LOL Water bill is gonna be a bummer...

So..whatcha all onto today? I am fixin to go to the shop and transfer all my files andsuch from the old computer to a portable hard drive. That way I can access it from my laptop without having to load it down. I am giving one desktop to Brittni. The other desktop that I am unloading is going into the livingroom to be turned into a gaming computer for the other kids. I will mainly use the laptop. That way I can sit in bed, watch tv and browse the net.. LOL Basically be a bum..

Well.. I am outta here. Take a shower and at least present myself as human. LOL

Friday, May 04, 2007

Here we are. Friday night. Yep.. sitting at home being bored and a bum.. Had a pretty hectic day, but not so bad. Now.. I have discovered that I am now a total redneck.. Why you might ask. Well.. Every single person on the street has nice lucious green grass growning. Beautiful flowers blooming and superb lawn decorations.. What does this have to do with me being a redneck.. LOL Look at the following pictures and tell me what you think..LOL

so really.. I am actually doing some landscaping. The creeping charlie is out of control. The yard was filled with gravel due to my yard being the waterway. And to top it off, the holes were incredible since my pooch can't seem to restrain himself. LOL I can't wait until it is finished. It is going to be wonderful being able to walk on actual grass instead of weeds..

So.. Whatcha all up to tonight? I figure I am going to curl up in bed and watch a movie and hope that one of my low-life friends (who all have things to do tonight without me)gives me a call. No.. not sour.. Just mildly annoyed.. LOL
Hugs

Thursday, May 03, 2007

So.. I now have a myspace.. I love it.. LOL We are having a good time with it. Not to mention that I can keep track of the kids that way. They have them too. Without my permission and behind my back.. Little shits!

Paul got crushed by the tailgate of a dump truck the other day. Thankfully it got his hips instead of his head.. Insurance isn't paid up.. LOL Just kidding.. He really did get hurt. His hips are funny looking. Like one is more out front than the other. Bet it shifted them. I keep telling him he needs to get a second opinion. The xrays only showed that the bones weren't broke. He is getting around a bit better, but bruised and slow going.

Brittni is now hounding to use the car all the time. I am having a hard time letting go of the "my little girl" thing.. Sheesh.. Oh yeah... She met a boy at the races and they are now "dating".. LOL He is a cutie and in a band. She is going to see them play on Wednesday. Not sure what kind of trouble they will get into.

Courtney is hitting softball hard this year. They are doing really well. That girl can smack the ball hard and far. She really has a powerful swing.. Makes a mom proud!

Macky has been sick. High to med fever with no real reason behind it. They tested for Lymes.. Waiting on the results now.

Katie.. Well.. She is just a pain in the butt 5 year old.. LOL Getting into her own little personality and taking after the smart mouth of Courtney. She has been taught well.. LOL

Me.. I have just been floating around being me..

Now, I did have some excitement here yesterday.. GROANING!!! I did not know that Paul had ordered a load of dirt for the yard and to my surprise it showed up yesterday morning right after I got out of the shower..

Here is the scene.. I am soaked and bare running thru the house chasing the dog who took my towel.. Curtains open wide letting in the superb morning sunlight. I hear a noise, stand straight up and look out the window only to see the dump truck and the guy driving standing there.. Not cool!!! I almost died of embarrasment. How horrible was that!! Let me tell you.. Have you ever seen a smile on a person that just hollered out.. I JUST SAW YOU NAKED AND WET!!!LOL Well.. That was the smile I received..

Needless to say.. I ran for the bedroom and hid until he left.. LOL

Keep smiling.. Life holds many surprises for us each day!

Sunday, April 29, 2007

So today was pretty mellow. Gorgeous, sunny and warm. Baby Nick came over and mowed my lawn while I sat on the deck drinking a soda watching him.. LOL

Can life get better than that.. Why yes.. yes it can.. snickering...

My neighbor who happens to be in the military had his entire unit at his house today getting his pool and yard ready for summer.. Let me just say ladies.. Oh YEAH!!!! Life just cannot get better than over 25 guys in shorts, no shirts and totally in shape walking around outsite while you are sitting there lounging.. LOL What a beautiful sight that was!! Best part was when they started singing Akon "Smack that.." It was so funny I could not resist laughing, which in turn made them all show off like school boys.. LOL

What a beautiful day!!

I also went shopping today. I found some great tops on sale at Wal-Mart. Gosh I really hate shopping there. But, they were only $4.00 so I grabbed them. Cute. If they don't fit, the girls will love them. Course I grabbed up some under clothing too.

On the topic of under clothing, I have to ask.. Have you ever noticed how everything is all padded these days? Now I ask you.. Who the hell in their right mind who wears a 44DD wants or needs a padded bra? I don't get it. They aren't big enough already that you have to have padding? I really do not get it.. I am a 38D ( more info than you needed right...) and I just cannot imagine wearing a padded bra. Mine are HUGE already without adding more to it. Guess I am destined to be confused.. LOL

So, now that we have that covered.. How was your day? I hope you were one of us that got to enjoy a bright sunny day.

Off to bed I go. Gotta call Baby Nick at 5:30 to take a Bander back to Northern Engraving by 6:00. So, if I have to get up that early, I am going to bed.. LOL

I just wanted to share this will all my Harry Potter loving friends.
This could really be a great project. I am hoping to find the time to help out. Not sure if I will, but the thought is there anyway.

Thursday, April 26, 2007

Is this not adorable! I really must find the pattern for it. I do remember that the back is shirred. Really neat. I am not much big on the really open back apron tops or halters (got some love handles to take care of) but this one is just to cute.

So.. today was really quite crappy. It rained almost all day. Was way to cold for my liking and to top it all off I ran my damn fuel tank out of heating fuel. I called and they will deliver tonight if I want to pay an extra $110.00 for night emergency service.. Yeah right.. I knew I was getting low, but I simply forgot to order it. LOL Whatcha gonna do... So, we will just wait until tomorrow. And the best part is.. It is supposed to be in the high 70's for the rest of the week.. It was actually 44 today at its warmest. I think it is 41 out there right now. To cold!!!

I really wanted to get more accomplished today, but it was just a lazy day at the office. I did get the billing done. I also mopped the floors since the boys cannot seem to remember to stomp off their boots before storming across the office tracking it all in.. I think I am going to buy them shock collars. Everytime they irk me I am going to give them a good zap! LOL Wonder if they make them big enough.. LOL.

I bought this book off ebay and I have to say.. It is really a great book. It has a ton of info. And the patterns are great too. Not real fond of having to rip them out, but I think I may just photocopy the pages and tape them together preserving the originals in the book.

I am hoping to get some sewing done tomorrow. I have 3 patchy sidepanel jeans ready to stitch together. Just got to get the ambition to get it done.. LOL

I am going to call it a night. I am really just to beat to keep my eyes open and it it only 8:45pm. Strange for me, but I know Paul and Nick will be calling to tell me all about the accident they went to. 2 semis i think. Not really sure, but they had to take both big wreckers out. State Patrol is refusing to release the vehicles yet, so they are just sitting there waiting to tow them to our impound lot. I will be lucky to hear the phone ring when they inevitably call. LOL If I don't answer, I will have both of them pounding on the door wondering what is going on.. Thankfully I wear jammies to bed. Which means I better get some sleep in.

Okay.. here goes. Does this item look familiar to anyone? This is what people are using to make ribbon key fobs. I really want to make some of these, but I also do not want to pay out the a** for them either. 90 cents is just a bit high for me. And I did bite the bullet and order 50 of them off ebay for $35.00. But again for personal use, it just seems like I could maybe get a better deal if I could find someone who manufactures them. Anyway, here is a picture I found off the web of some really cute fobs. Talk about neat.

Now aren't these cute! I want some... LOL

On a different note.. My have you grown Mr Harry Potter.. LOL

I almost passed out when I saw this picture. It just doesn't seem right that Harry Potter should be showing off like this.. LOL Okay Daniel is looking mighty grown up and the girls wanted me to post the darn picture, so there.. I posted it.. LOL

It is that time again. I am off to bed. Long day tomorrow. I have some major reading to do if I want to get my CDL with all the endorsements. So.. I have to start early to get myself ready to take the test on Friday.
Hugs, Lana

Saturday, April 21, 2007

Today is BEAUTIFUL day!!! It is sunny and absolutely the perfect temperature. Not to hot and not to cold. A bit windy, but certainly nothing to complain about.

It is spring cleaning day. I have been busting humps all morning trying to get the garage cleaned out, the yard picked up and ready for planting. Not sure how much planting I will get done this week.

We are bringing in a couple loads of top soil black dirt. My yard is horrible. It is the "water way" on the block, so it is lower than the neighbors on either side. Not to mention that under the first 3 inches of soil, it is gravel. The gravel as you can imagine is popping up and you can't even walk outside in your bare feet. Being a natural girl, I hate having to slip on shoes every time I go outside. So... we are adding dirt and are seading our yard. At least that is the plan. We had better get to it soon, or we will be in a mess of trouble later.

I did see that my line of lillies are coming up. I saw green shoots.. YEAH!!! I transplanted them real late in the season, so I wasn't sure if they would take. Can't wait to see them. I am hoping to get some seeds this year for uncommon herbs. Not going real well in my search, but eventually I want the back yard filled like an English Garden with plants and herbs everywhere and cute little seats and fountains.. How cool will that be!!!

Well, I suppose I should get outside and get some before pictures taken. If any of you are bored and want to come and help, just pop on over. We are grilling at 5pm Central time, so grab your plane ticket, pop a jet and lets go! Burbon steaks on the grill, peppercorn ribs, and of course Texas taters.. All we are missing is corn on the cob.. But that too shall arrive in time.. LOL

Oh.. missing the brew too.. We are test tasting some home brew that the guy from the bus barn made. Postman Don is bringing his homemade beer.. That is sooo yummy. Nice and light but not to light. LOL

WOW.. we sound like a bunch of drunks on the 4th of July.. LOL Actually, I am a non drinker, but do like to sample every now and again. I like to have my wits about me. And it is always kid friendly.

Time to clean. Notice I drug it out a bit longer..

Here is my room. I promised to post pictures of the infamous polka dot room.. LOL the dark spots are a plum color and the one above the lamlp is really plum not burgandy.. LOL Of couse the meduim ones are cream and the smaller ones are lime green. The blue walls are a steel country blue. Kind of cool I think. Notice the lava lamp lamps.. LOL I love those at night.. Really makes my room sparkle. I will update the pictures once I get my waterbed refinished and set up. That won't be until later in the summer.

Now this beauty of a room belongs to 5 year old Katie. It was originally Mackys room, but we did a bit of switching around when we adopted Katie. Mackys room isn't finished yet. Well, not really even started. Notice the "hole" in the tree. We had a squirrel peeking out of it, but the little bugger decided he didn't want to stick to the wall. LOL

Okay, I am off to bed. Been a long day and it will be an early morning. I have so much billing to get done. Anyhow, have a great night to all.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Here we are .. the end of March and I haven't posted in forever. Just so busy getting things in order at the office.. but.. Here I am. I really didn't fall off the face of the earth. I have been sick, kids been sick, dh sick, cat sick and both dogs sick in the last couple months. Isn't that something.. LOL I have to show you all something. This is a month ago here in WI.. Just a month..

Isn't that something.. LOL DH is in the cat having himself a grand ol time.. Here are a couple of the kids enjoying themselves.. Notice Macky is in the tree.. Guess what happened??? Yep... she fell out..

Now.. You might be asking what I was doing when all this snow was being moved and played in... Yep.. you guessed it.. I was knitting socks.. Cute socks too..

These are Katies.. Bitty size 5s. And these are the matching ones for Macky. A size 12.

These are my chain link socks I did for a knitalong. They are soooo comfy.. I just love them. Size 7 adult.

I, of course, have knit and crocheted lots more, but havn't had time to take pictures.. LOL.. Will get to that soon..
I did finally get my own sewing studio. I am not completely moved into it yet, but working on it slowly between office and kids. I will take pictures tomorrow and post them so you can see what I have to work with.. It is nice. I love it. Pellet Stove and everything..
I will also get some pictures up of my polka dot room and Katies nature room.. More as they are finished. I can't wait to begin with Mackys fairy room.. Not sure if she is planning on keeping that theme yet. She is 7 and changes her mind as much as I do.. LOL

Monday, February 19, 2007

Hi all,
It has been a while since I last posted. Sorry about that. I have been pretty sick off and on with whooping cough and other ouches. Yes... what a pain. With 4 kids, I get everything the entire school district has.. LOL
But, I am on the mend and ready to start life again. At least in between relapses..

I have been knitting like crazy. I have another pair of socks almost finished. Hopefully I will have them done by Friday. They are a chain stitch pattern and look like chain links. Kind of neat.

I did get my death by socks done. I am still alive so far and haven't received any unfinished ones yet. They are coming from the UK, so could be just a slow boat.. Like those from China.. LOL

I have been hosting a Jack Russel Terrier for a friend of my daughters. What was only supposed to be a couple weeks has now turned into almost 2 months. She hasn't come to get hte dog, so there is 2 months of hosting a dog that I really dislike. Not only does it dig in the garbage, it craps on the floor where it wants to, and it eats socks, unders and crotches out of pants. Nice huh!! WEll... this beast is out of here tomorrow. To the pound it will have to go. No.. I am not mean, but after it totally destroyed the screen on my front door casing and all, it is time for it to be adopted to a new home.

The kids are getting huge. Just bought new shoes in November and we went and got new ones again yesterday. Can't keep up. LOL

Just got the call.. Courtney needs to be picked up. They won their basketball game and are home now. Gotta run adn bring her butt home so I can go to bed.. LOL Yes, it is only 7:22 pm, but I am tired froma long day of paperwork and crabby customers. You know.. the ones who got drunk, put their car in the ditch and don't want to pay the tow bill.. LOL Yep, I got 2 of them today.. Either pay or don't.. I have your keys.. LOL They paid...

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Well after several complications in life, I was able to get this project finished. I joined a death by socks knitting challenge. Basically you knit as fast as you can in order to eliminate your "victim". Once they receive the socks you have knit, they send you the ones they have been knitting for their "victim". You finish them and mail them to the new "victim". On and on til you are the last man standing for a prize. Here are my first pair and I have not received a pair yet, so that is good. LOL Bad thing is that my socks are being shipped to the UK, so it will take a bit longer.
Due to health problems, I had to drop out of a couple swaps. Just not up to them. Thankfully everyone has been super understanding. I do need to get finished on an after Christmas Santa swap. I have mine almost done, so I didn't drop out of that one. Not to mention it doesn't have to be shipped until the 31st, so I still have a week to complete it. Little by little it will get done.
On a new topic, we had to buy a new pellet stove for the office. Mine took a dump on us, so we jst went and got a new one. Not even installed yet. We will do that today. The kids are picking up my slack and going to clean the new office out for us. Once cleaned the guys will get all the desks and stuff moved so we can get it going. That will be so nice. Warm and cozy!!
This office is just to dang impersonal and COLD!! My feet are always freezing and I find myself on the couch covered with blankets more than not. Watching Charmed or CSI. One or the other.. LOL
But.. With everyone pitching in, we should make the transfer in no time.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Hi ya'all..

Today was soooo nice. I stayed home all day. I laid in bed watching Dawson's Creek drinking coffee and looming preemie hats. I made 5 of them today. Talk about to darn cute. I haven't made the poms for the tops yet, but will get to them later.

I signed up to make 100 of them. I am working on getting others to help out, so if you want info just holler... I will gladly pass it on.

Oh.. My pellet stove bit the dust. We tried fixing it today with no success. 2 new motors and the thing still won't run. There went $1,000.00 down the tubes. Hopefully the repair guy will find a quick fix and it will be cheap.. LOL

I got another box of yarn in the mail today. WOW!! Thanks a bunch Sarah.. I appreciate it. I have 6 booties made already with some of the sock yarn I have gotten. 2 scarves made up last night too. They are sooo cute. All are definately worthy for a patchy child.

You all continue to amaze me with your yarns. I just heard from a gal who spins and paints her own yarns. She is sending me 6-440 yards of painted yarn. I am excited. She wants me to try it out and give my opinions. How cool is that!! And I get a 40% discount at her site. Can't beat that. I will put all her info on my site when it is up and running.

I have 6 more episodes of Dawson to get thru tonight, so I had better get off this computer. I have a big day of moving office furniture tomorrow. At least until we change our minds again. LOL

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Today was a pretty hectic day.. Taxes are a real bummer.. Business taxes I mean.. Just to much work. And to pay to have it done is a killer.. LOL Especially when you know you are capable of doing it yourself..

I got quite a bit finished. Should have it all gone thru and added up by Tuesday and then off to the tax man I will go. Lets hope for a big refund.. LOL Not gonna happen. Even with the 4 kids.. LOL

But.. Tis the price you pay to work on your own schedule.

We have decided to move our office into the old building. I think we will rent our big office out to the school bus company. We just do not use all the space, and it makes no sense to keep using it and paying for all the unused space. It is glassed in, so the heat bills are unbelievable. Not to mention that the light bill is so high.. The other office is much smaller and to be honest, much more cosy. You walk in and it is just a really homey atmosphere. Not like the one we are in. Way to bright, way to white and way to "hospitalized". If we were a big company with tons of employees in the office, it would be perfect, but not for just me and Paul. Or is that Paul and I.. LOL

Anyway, We have to get the carpet back in there and the pellet wood stove in there too. The downfall of the old office is that there is no heat going to that building. So, we have to rely on the pellets. We used to use a corn burner, but that was just to damn sooty. Everything was covered in an inch of dust and ash every night. Kinda gross after while. The pellet stove is much nicer. Cleaner burn and lots of heat..

I do have to admit that I am not sure it is really a work environment.. LOL Nice and cozy with the atmosphere of the pellet stove.... Hmmm.... Did I mention we have a futon we will be putting in there too.. LOL

Just kidding.. Well.. not really, but I had to tease a bit.. Seriously.. it will be nice to be back in the old office. The only real downfall is that it will be much smaller and the kids will have to deal with a smaller space. No room to run in this office.. LOL

It is that time again. Over slept this morning cause I stayed up way to late, so I am off to bed. Gotta start gettign to bed at a reasonable time since I have to be up at 5am. Comes to darn quick when you don't get to bed until 2am.. LOL

Night all...

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

WOW.. it has been a while since I updated.. Lots of busy stuff happening.
WE had a fantastic Christmas. I got a camcorder that fits right in the palm of my hand. Kind of cool. Gor this really nice reed air freshener in my favorite scent. WHITE LILAC!!! Lots of other stuff, but those of course are my favorites.

Kids had a blast. Spoiled as usual. To much new stuff for me to trip over.

New Years was great. We spent the evening playing a 4 1/2 hour game of monopoly and I lost to a 7 year old. LOL She totally cleaned up with over $11,000 and most of the properties.. She is gonna let me live with her for the rest of my life... Support me and even cook for me.. LOL

------------------------

I have been spending my days getting the office ready for 2007. Lots of 2006 tax stuff to go thru. I did up all the W2's today. Mailed out and set. Now for the 1099's tomorrow.

Once those are finished, it is all a matter of adding up receipts and getting the stuff ready to the tax man. Gotta love that. Hoping for the best, but knowing it isn't going to be pretty.. LOL

We turned a good year, but... with no snow, the going is a bit tight right now. Lets hope for a nice big snow storm that lasts for 3 days.. LOL

----------------------------------

Oh yeah... no snow. January 9th and no stinking snow.. What gives??? I don't think I have ever had a birthday that I didn't have to trudge thru snow.. Yep... Today is my BIRTHDAY!!!!! Nope, not gonna tell you how old I am.. LOL.. But... I will tell you that I just past the hump towards 40.. Sigh... Don't feel that old a bit... And to make matters worse, a friend of mine (who is 29) just got a boob job yesterday. Made a healthy comment about them going south and maybe I would have to deal with that soon.. LOL Nice huh...

I may be getting older, but the twins are still where they are supposed to be.. LOL Haven't began the ski slope yet.. Well, maybe the bunny hill, but definately not the slope..

-----------------------------------------------------
Anyways... I just made this rasta tam that is just to die for. I listed is on one of my yahoo groups, and it sold in about 5 minutes. I was so impressed. Got an order for 3 more. I am pretty dang proud of myself. So far, this week I have made 6 of them in different sizes. Also made a cute hat in light watermelon colors. Then some berets, but.. I really did do lots of other stuff.. LOL Here are a ton of pictures.

My favorite one is the orange one. Gotta love orange. Not sure what order I like them the best, but they are all really big and suprisingly hang pretty good considering it was all heavy yarn. Well, except the pink ones, those are a bit lighter weight.
I am off to get my room clean.. LOL Complain the kids never keep theirs clean and you can't even see my floor.. Where does all this stuff come from???

Here are my famous Raggedies. I sold these a while back on ebay. They are 36 inch. Aren't they cute?!
Well, the guy who bought them emailed me today. He asked if I still made them and would be willing to do an order for him. I of course told him that i would love to make him another set.. He must have laughed, cause when he emailed me back, I was shocked!!! Not only does he want another pair, but he wants to order 16 pairs. One set for each of his neices and sisters. That is a HUGE order. I accepted. He needs them for next Christmas . HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! He said he would let me know the colors he needs after the holidays. It is gonna be fun. I even have 10 bodies already made just waiting for stuffing, so it won't take me long at all to whip them up.
I went and did a bit of shopping today. WOW!!! it was horribly packed and I can't believe how many people are rude and angry this time of year. I did not manage to get everything I wanted to get, so that means another day of shopping tomorrow when the older girls come home from their dads house. At least it will be completely kid free shopping.. YEAH!!!
I am almost finished with shopping. Just a few minor things to pick up. I have no clue whta to get a few people, so they may just end up with a gift certificate. Course I hate giving those out. Unless you are a kid, it generally goes to stuff you need versus stuff you want. Which in my opinion is what Christmas gift giving is about. A special feel good gift, not toilet paper and groceries.. LOL
It is time to get some kids bathed and settled down for the night. An early to bed night would be acceptible to me.. LOL I have alot of wrapping to do. The hiding spots are running a bit low at the moment. I did think I might take them to the office, but that just meant extra work for me hauling them multiple times. So... they are being hid in several spots thru the house. I think the kids have spotted a few of them and just haven't paid much attention tot what they are.. Leave them in the open and it never gets questioned.
Have a great night all.. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

Can you believe it??? Still no snow.. We have rain... actually, lots of drippy type rain. Not even a good downpour.. LOL I can't remember the last time we didn't have snow for Christmas. I know.. still a few days left, but come on...

Ah well... I have been drafting a couple patterns for crocheted scarves. I was so inspired when I went to a site that had food scarves.. LOL bacon and eggs, cupcakes, salad, bomb pops, etc.. How cool is that..

My wonderful Aunt Cindy drafted me up a cupcake pattern so I can make my daughter a scarf. She fell in love with one she found on ebay, but I just can't afford $355.00 for a scarf.. LOL Yes.. the dang thing went that high. I couldn't believe it.

It is off to the office today. Took a couple days off cause this cold is kicking my butt, but since it isn't getting any better, I may as well get something done..

Enjoy the day!

Now this is tooo dang funny for words. Click this link and watch this woman make a complete fool of herself..
Makes my worst day seem not quite so bad.. LOL
Oh... I forgot to mention.. I need some help from all the Harry Potter knitters/crocheters/ crafters out there... I am trying to get a list of all the HP yarn matches. Meaning.. I need each brand of yarn with the color name and number that best fits each Hogwarts house.
I am wanting any yarn.. Acrylic, wool, a combo blend.. etc... All sizes of yarns.. sock to chunky... All brands so that we have a good resource for all yarns, not just one kind. Yarn is expensive and for everyday projects, it would be nice to have an assortment of brands from cheap to expensive to accomodate everyones financial ability.. Most of us cannot afford $22.00 for a skein of sock yarn.. LOL
Anyeay, if you have a favorite yarn to use, please let me know which color, brand and size it is...
We had a great day yesterday.. I made a pretty simple supper and some great snacks and we played Uno with the kids. Such a fun game to play.. LOL

Paul took Brittni out driving for some nighttime practice.. Better him than me.. LOL I just do not teach well.. I am to jumpy. Of course they stopped at Wal-Mart for a deck of Uno cards. So... we ate snacks and played cards.

Are you familiar with dried beef? You can buy it at the grocery store in a jar. Those jars double as glasses. LOL Anyway, I smear cream chees in them and roll them up. Best snack in the world.. LOL Out of 2 big jars, I only got 2. The kids and Paul scarfed them down in no time flat.. LOL

Anyway, we had a great night. As I was browsing the net after the kids went to bed, I found this really neat site to generate your own fairy name.. LOL Her eis me...

Your fairy is called Bramble Goblinfilter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in leafy dells and bluebell glades.
She is only seen on midsummer's eve.
She wears bluebell-blue dresses.
She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

Go and see who you really are.. LOL

Well, today has been busy.. LOL And I didn't do a thing. Headache from hell...

I am up now. Excedrin migraine is a wonderful pill.. LOL

I have been asked to host a Harry Potter Death by... challenge. You may ask... what the heck is that??? Let me explain...

Basically this is what happens once you sign up.. (a yahoo group is formed so that all participants are together)

1. An item is chosen.. scarf, tote bag, hat, socks, etc...
2. if you decide to participate, you will be given a victim. This is the person you are making the item for.
3. The object is to be the first to complete and send your item to your victim before someone sends an item to you. If you receive an item, you will need to stop working on your item and mail it to the person who outed you. You will send the unfinishe item plus your victims information. They will complete it for you and send it on.
4. Your victim will not be your assasin.
5. The last person standing without being outed wins. A prize will be given. Usually this item is donated. Sometimes it is a large item, sometimes it is a smaller item. Just depends on what gets donated.
6. Alot of times, the host will pick a supplier that everyone will buy from. The supplier will generally donate the prize since they are getting the whole order.
It can be from yarn to patterns to needles or hooks..
7. A start date and time will be picked. The pattern will be uploaded at that specific time so all is fair.

So that is how it works.. Not sure if I really want to host it.. LOL Last one I hosted went very well, but it is alot of work. I am not sure if I am up to that right now. We did felted booga bags in the victims house choice. I chose Hufflepuff and got a fantastic felted bag. I gave it as a gift in the end.. Wishing now I had saved a picture of it.. LOL I was outed before I could finish mine.. LOL No pictures of that either. It was fun while it lasted though.. LOL

Anyway, I will let you all know if I do host it.. Maybe after the holidays..
Harry Potter Scarf Pattern
-----------------------------
worsted weight red heart yarn colors used are:
Ranch red #0332 and gold #0321

Size 10 1/2 US needles or whatever size you like.
Gauge is not an issue with this scarf. You just go with the
size you like.

Cast on 25 loosely
row 1- knit across row
row 2- knit across row
row 3- *Knit 1, YO twice* repeating across row
row 4- *Knit 1, Drop both YO* repeating across row

I made mine so I had 5 sets then switched to the second color for 5 sets until I had it the length I wanted it.

I did 5 blocks of red and 4 blocks of gold. You are welcome to do a few more, but I do not like my scarves real long. And I added long fringe to make up some length.

Remember to cast off loosely.

For the fringe, I cut 5 strands of yarn for each tassel. Each strand was about 16 inches long.

That is all there is to it. Not a havey scarf, but really cute.. It is functional, just not for 20 below winters.. LOL

Now to find colors for each of the other houses in Harry Potter. I figure I might just as well have a matching set of scarves since this works up so fast and it is actually quite fun.

Here is the Harry Potter colored scarf I just finished. Sorry the pictures aren't that great.. LOL

It is a basic simple scarf pattern and if I can get the pattern instructions cleared to post from the owner, I will post it.

Here is the hemp necklace I made this summer. It is my favorite one. Took forever to figure out the pattern for it, but not bad for a first try..

This set of candles I made early this year. I sold the set and it got great reviews for the scent. I scented it with double dutch chocolate. YUMMY!!

Today is the day for packing and moving my sewing stuff to my new studio. Well, not really a studio. I have taken over DH's shop office and it is not going to be overrun with all my crafting supplies. Good way to get more room in the house and maybe I will actually be able to organize it and be able to find stuff.. LOL I come from a long line of pack rats, and I have certainly earned that title. I have more stuff than any one person should be allowed to have.. So this move will be good. A nice place to work. Best part is that I can keep an eye on Paul.. LOL Keep him in line.. Just kidding.. Not sure how I will like being there all day, but since he needs help in the office most days, I will be able to do that and sew or knit when I am not on the phone or doing billing.

Did I mention that the lighting will be awesome for sewing. I will be able to really get some good combinations in lighting like that. I will take pictures once I get set up.. Gotta go for now. Time to start packing..

hi all... I am glad to say that I am not upset anymore.. LOL Back to my normal jolly self. a bit disappointed, but not to bad. With the help of a fwe great mama's, I will be able to get some new dresses made up in no time.
Here are a couple pictures of the skinny scarves I have just knitted and crocheted. The 2 light blue ones are presents for a mama and her daughter. Cute!!! The dark one inbetween the light blue ones is a dark blue with yellow flecks in it. Very nice and stretchy. I still have to weave the ends in..
The green one and the orange ones on the end are the 2 crocheted ones. They double as belts, scarves, or whatever.. LOL Patterns out of some scarf book my DD just bought at Wal-Mart.. You can see a bit more detail in the up close picture. Still not great, but you get the idea...

We went to Courtneys choir concert last night.. All I can say is WOW!!! They were incredible for a group of 8th grade singers. While they all did great, I feel compelled to include a note about Sydney.. Courtneys friend who has the most incredible voice I think I have ever heard. You would have thought you were listening to Whitney Houston or Beyonce (sp??) or any of the other pop singers. She was just to much for words.. Standing ovation....

The band was really good too.. I was so impressed.. Courtney charmed everyone after the show. She and her other friend decided to pretend to sing with the microphone back stage while we were all out at the social stuffing our faces with all kinds of goodies.. LOL Out of no where we hear a Christmas song being sung out of nowhere.. We all go and look and there ...thinking they are on "Wanna be a rock star" are the 2 girls jamming out.. LOL It was just to HILARIOUS!!!

I have started a new Harry Potter scarf.. It isn't a traditional movie one, but same colors with a different stitch. Thanks for the instructions Michelle...
I will get pictures posted tomorrow of my progress. It isn't turning out exactly how I had hoped, but it is definately cute..

Alright.. It is time to vent/cry/whine...

Have you ever had to remind yourself just how much you love your children??

Well, I am reminding myself of that very thing right now. And let me tell you a little story about a 4 almost 5 year old who is in severe trouble with her mother right now.

We had a meeting at the school today. It went well. She is doing great. Not as good as we had hoped, but still doing much better than she was. We came home and made chocolate chip cookies and macaroni & cheese.. When we finished eating lunch, I decided to start some dishes.. So I turned on Noggin and went about my business.. About 10 minutes later, Katie came into the kitchen with the most beautiful piece of fabric. I really didn't think much of it. I just figured it was some scraps from the dresses I was making for a friends little girl.. No biggie right?? WRONG!!!!!

I went into the livingroom to collect the lunch dishes and to my HORROR.. what do you think I found??? You got it!!! She had gotten my scissors and the 4 dresses off of the table.. Mind you that they were not in easy reach either.. I just can't believe that I didn't hear her.. Course, if you knew the sneaky little turd, you would understand why I didn't hear a thing. Clever as they come and naughty to boot.. But.. By looking at her delicate dainty face, you wouldn't ever guess what a little shit she is.. LOL Gotta love her though...

Anyway.. Back to the HORROR... There in the middle of the floor sat a god awful pile of cut up fabric. A wild assortment of scraps that were ~15 minutes prior~ the most beautiful dresses fit for the hippest little girl. I put so much time and love into those dresses and they are not even close to being fixable.. Not to mention that is was about $60.00 worth of fabric and trim. I will be able to cut it all up into quilt squares, but that isn't the point.. I do not have the money or fabric stash or time to remake 4 dresses..

How the heck do you tell someone that they are not getting the dresses you have promised them because YOU didn't watch your kid close enough and your kid is to naughty to be left alone long enough for you to get the dishes done???

Did I mention that I really do love my children??? I honestly do... But..... some days I would love to send them off to Gramma and let her deal with them... And let me say.. I would have been DEAD MEAT!!! had I ever done something that stupid.. 4 (almost 5) or not.. The worst part is.. Katie had to tell me the minute I walked into the room that the cat did it... So.. it isn't that she didn't know it was wrong, SHE KNEW!! You could tell just by looking at her that she was in trouble before I said a word... And the fact that she even thoguth to blame the cat for it.. LOL Tells me not only do I have a cute little girl, I also have one that is tooo smart for her own good. Clever isn't she..

Did I mention that I really do love my children.. LOL....

Well, I am off to email the recipient of the dresses. Cross your fingers she doesn't strangle me thru the phone with my own cord...
Your Hair Should Be Pink
Hyper, insane, and a boatload of fun. You're a traveling party that everyone loves to follow.
Okay, so here goes.. LOL My inner hair color is pink.. CAN YOU IMAGINE ME IN PINK!! Bleck.... Now, maybe burgandy I could live with, but definately not pink. Couldn't it have been green or maybe even purple.. Blue is good.. Orange would be awsome, but not pink.. :)
So I started another skinny scarf last night. Almost finished. I made it thin cause I didn't know how much yarn it would take. I will post pictures when it is done. I also have a sweater on the needles. Very cute, but turning out a bit bigger than i expected.. LOL But... that is what you get when you do not do a gauge swatch.. Who would have guessed right??? LOL
I am off to a meeting at the school for Katie (almost 5). We are hoping it goes well. She is making lots of progress, but being a bit slower in the learning processing, we have to constantly monitor her. I think she is doing fantastically. If we can just get past the "meany meaner" behavior to the pets, and the just plain naughty stuff, we will be good to go.. LOL
I am off.. Will let you know how it goes..
